OneElevenEast

Jeremy Eckberg:  Bass / Vocals

Jeremy Eckberg is the second of the five Eckberg brothers, having arrived in the world just 10 minutes ahead of his twin, Joel. Jeremy provides the essential bottom end to the music of OneElevenEast. He is by all standards enormously talented, with a great touch and a feel for any style of music. He is the perfect bassist for the music of OneElevenEast.

Like all the Eckberg brothers, most of Jeremy’s activities while growing up centered on sports. Wherever and whenever there was an opportunity to play, Jeremy was there, participating in baseball, football, and basketball throughout his Jr. and Sr. high years. He was good, too. As the Senior Captain for the 1993-94 Walnut Blue Raiders, Jeremy led the team in scoring and was the team MVP.

Baseball was his favorite sport and it was baseball that was on his mind as he headed for Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois in 1994. However, along the way something sparked his interest in music and he soon traded set aside his baseball glove, picked up a second hand Peavey bass guitar and began teaching himself to play. He was a quick learner and was soon traveling back and forth to Peoria to play with brother Matthew in The Peoria based band, Casual Man.

After graduating from Monmouth in 1998, Jeremy settled in Peoria, taking a position with World Finance Corporation and later with Wells Fargo in Bloomington. During his time in Peoria he teamed up with his first Monmouth College roommate, Dirk Trotter, to form Blue Magoo which quickly became one of the most popular bands in the Peoria area.

Jeremy’s next move was to the Chicago area where he took a position with U.S. Music Corporation, makers of Washburn guitars and Eden amplifiers.

Today Jeremy remains in Chicago and at U.S. Music Corp. and continues playing regularly with the Bart Alonzo Band, as well as an occasional resurrection of Blue Magoo.
