Bryan Vicary: Drums
Drummer Bryan Vicary is the only member of OneElevenEast who is not an Eckberg, but no other musician has played with the brothers as long as he has. He has definitely earned the title of “honorary” brother.
Bryan is the expressive, passionate, backbone of OneElevenEast. To put it as simply, Bryan is just plain fun to watch. His engaging personality brings an extra spark to OneElevenEast and makes him an instant crowd favorite.
All that does not in the slightest diminish the talent that he brings to OneElevenEast. Bryan Vicary is a rock solid, accomplished drummer with 20 years experience under his belt.
A native of Hanna City, Illinois, Bryan developed a love for music early in life. A membership in the Columbia Record Club opened his eyes and ears to a wide variety of music, everything from Run DMC to Motley Crew. He picked up the drumsticks for the first time in 1989 and, after two weeks of lessons (“I didn’t have the patience or the discipline for lessons”), he set out to learn on his own.
At Farmington (Illinois) High School Bryan played in the Jazz and Pep bands and – at the age of 16 -- won a talent contest at the Fulton County Fair. Just to prove that a musician’s life is never quite fair, Bryan’s win at the Fair’s talent show earned him a right to compete at the Illinois State Fair where he “got beat out by a ventriloquist and a clogger!”
Bryan sharpened his talent in a number of bands such as “Nocturnal Surprise” and “Eternal Havoc”, before hooking up with Matthew, Jeremy, and friend Fred Dirkse in Peoria based “Casual Man” in 1997.
Bryan is still passionate about his drumming. Currently he is playing with “Gypsy Road” as well as adding his talents to OneElevenEast.
